Mr. Pineau is currently president of the Gilpin County Bar Association (2001 to present); was a finalist for a County judgeship; was an instructor in trial advocacy at the University of Colorado School of Law, and the University of Denver College of Law; was jointly appointed by the Governor, Attorney General, and the Chief Justice of the Colorado Supreme Court to the Colorado Judicial Nominating Commission; has testified as an expert witness; is a graduate of the Trial Lawyers College (2009); is a recipient of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar’s 2010 Gideon Award (protecting children); attends and teaches Continuing Legal Education seminars; is a fellow in the Colorado Bar Foundation; is ranked by lawyers as a Super Lawyer, to the national Register of Preeminent Lawyers, and The National Trial Lawyers Top 100; is court-appointed counsel for individuals in civil and criminal cases, and participates in professional legal associations, including the Colorado Bar Association, the Boulder County Bar Association, the First Judicial District Bar Association, the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys. The firm maintains an AV rating (the highest peer-rating for skill and ethics), and is retained by individuals and law firms to try civil and criminal cases, big and small, in all courts throughout Colorado.
